Cloisonné is a famous, traditional art technique dating back to the ancient Egyptians. It is a complex process comprised of delicate, soldered gold wire designs filled with the relatively soft glass of enamel. The object is then fired at very high temperatures to harden and fuse the enamel colors with the gold wire design. The patterns are usually very intricate, quite elaborate, and is particularly well-suited to the decoration of small, precious items such as jewelry, scent bottles and, of course, Hot Hang-Ups! purse hangers.
In fact, the Egyptians were so adept at the art of cloisonné that a beautiful chestplate depicting a vulture was found in the tomb of King Tutankhamun, a famous Pharoah of the 18th Dynasty. Hot Hang-Ups!™ craftspeople created a very unique handbag hanger which can be used for many functions — pill carrier, make-up mirror, coin purse, and so much more. All Compacts, except the Photo Frame Compact, are designed using the age-old technique of faux cloisonné. Several hangers also feature finely-faceted Austrian crystals.
The compact hangers are made of high quality, durable brass and available in 14 KT goldplate [Red Hat Compact only at this time] or a rich silvertone finish. The compacts have two mirror surfaces — one in the lid and one in the base. The compact lid itself has a push-in bar clasp which keeps it safely and securely closed.
A black velveteen rectangular snap-closure carrying pouch comes with each Compact purse hanger to protect it when not in use. A thick rubber friction pad on the base of the comapct ensures that it stays firmly in place when even the heaviest bag is hung from the over-sized hanger hook.
Size: Compact thickness 3/8"; face diameter 2-1/4”; stem is 4 1/8” long; hook length 1 1/2" overall, depth 7/8" [all sizes are approximate].
